OPTISOLV® ingredient for joint, gut and immune health
OPTISOLV® Curcumin: high-absorption curcumin for joint, gut and immune health formulations
Curcumin is a key supplement ingredient, yet native curcumin barely dissolves in water and releases slowly during digestion. OPTISOLV® Curcumin changes that: over 1000× higher water solubility, compared to native curcumin.

The challenge
A popular botanical that stays undissolved
Consumers use curcumin for immunity, joint and gut health, and brands want it in more and more formats.
But native curcumin is hydrophobic and crystalline. It hardly dissolves, releases slowly and incompletely during digestion and has very low bioavailability. Brands compensate with gram-level doses and are limited in the formats they can offer.

FAQ
Questions from formulators
What is OPTISOLV® Curcumin?
OPTISOLV® Curcumin is a free-flowing curcumin ingredient for nutraceuticals, made from Curcuma longa rhizome and standardised to at least 10 % total curcuminoids. It is encapsulated with EVANIUM’s OPTISOLV® dual-coating technology: a gamma-cyclodextrin inner layer and a sunflower lecithin outer layer.
How much better does OPTISOLV® Curcumin dissolve than native curcumin?
Its saturation solubility in water is over 1000x higher than that of native curcumin 95 % (265.4 vs. 0.254 µg/mL after 2 hours, HPLC). In simulated intestinal fluid it releases up to 170x more curcuminoids.
What is the recommended dose?
450-900 mg OPTISOLV® Curcumin once a day, corresponding to 45-90 mg curcuminoids.
Does it contain synthetic emulsifiers or allergens?
No. The other ingredients are gamma-cyclodextrin, Curcuma longa extract and sunflower lecithin. The ingredient is vegan, non-GMO, free from EU-listed allergens and not irradiated or treated with ethylene oxide.
