Corporate strategy
EVANIUM develops innovative, IP-protected health ingredients based on secondary plant compounds for the food industry and the pharmaceutical sector. The company focuses in particular on bioactive flavonoids for consumer care and OTC applications.
Phytochemicals, and polyphenols in particular, are characterized by a multitude of positive health effects on the one hand, and by steadily growing consumer interest in plant-based health products as a beautiful segment on the other. Due to the often problematic physicochemical properties and insufficiently researched biological activity of many flavonoids, the application of these substances remains a significant challenge for the industry.
Through its vertically integrated technology, EVANIUM also provides its partner companies with access to a pool of plant-based ingredients and extracts that have significantly improved technical properties, particularly in terms of water solubility, stability, and bioavailability.
Core technologies and services
With the help of the OPTISOLV® platform technology, the properties of problematic plant extracts and poorly soluble and barely permeable secondary plant substances can be significantly improved. The ingredients are formulated as a novel solid dispersion in a starch carrier, which enables excellent solubility, stability, and compressibility while maintaining a high drug load.
Additionally, polyphenolic active ingredients are being researched for novel applications and tested for their biological activity using in silico and in vitro screening methods.
EVANIUM offers targeted contract development and joint development collaborations to improve existing ingredients. The company also develops its own branded plant-based raw materials using OPTISOLV® Technology.
